Default What is a 'normal' conversion

I have a pretty solid tracking system for my programs, clicks, and conversions. My stats seem pretty weird, though. In the last 20 days:

    Program 1: 14 Signups / 0 FD
    Program 2: 5 Signups / 0 FD
    Program 3: 4 Signups / 2 FD
    Program 4: 3 Signups / 0 FD
    Program 5: 2 Signups / 0 FD
    Program 6: 1 Signups / 0 FD
    Program 7: 1 Signups / 0 FD
    Program 8: 1 Signups / 0 FD

This is all 100% SEO signups. Does this mean I am doing something wrong? Or is this typical? The 14 signups are on a reputable program with a new casino. I would expect better than 0% conversions with a new property, tbh.

They are all different, but I'm not really promoting bonuses. These clicks are all off non-bonus stuff like slot details and a 'play now' link for a specific property.

All players come through different slots pages with different slot-related keywords. Never a 'best casino' or 'best bonus' or anything like that. I do not target those keywords at all. 100% of these players came directly from a slots or instant-game page.

I guess your traffic in GEO wise quite Tier 1 or 2 and those slots stuff is nothing where people jumping out of the sofa for ... all good imo.
31 Reg -> 2 FTD is almost quite sexy ... what do you expect?

I probably expect the 'old days' When I originally put up my first site it was pretty much a 50/50 signup/deposit ratio. So - that's why I asked this question... am I at expectations or below them.

From experience a few years back I used to rank very high for individual slot reviews and they would get lots of clicks and sign ups but FTD's they are not ready to drop RMP, there are ways you can improve that but it will affect your traffic volume but increase conversions.

I will have to play around, then. All the better keywords are going to be tough for me because I refuse to buy a bunch of spammy links - I do not want to accidentally get removed from what few SERPS I have gained.

links wont get you removed if you're careful, other things might get you removed though like templating pages, forgetting about old thin pages etc. And don't test links on pages already ranking top but pages that are sitting around 13-20 and are worthwhile.

before deciding its the traffic, i would check the deposits are actually being attributed back to you. things that quietly eat ftds: short cookie windows (some programs are 30 days, some basically session only), someone registering on mobile and depositing later on desktop, and kyc drop off, where the player does register but never gets through document upload.

the other half is intent. a visitor on a slot detail page wants the rtp or wants to see the game, they are not in a depositing mood the way a bonus page visitor is. lower ftd rate from that traffic is normal, though the ones who do deposit usually stick around longer.

easiest check: ask one of those programs for their signup count for the same period and compare it to yours. if the numbers do not match, you have a tracking problem, not a conversion problem.

The 14 signups with no FTD at one casino caught my attention, especially since you mentioned that your traffic comes from individual slot pages.

Have you checked what happens after someone clicks 'Play Now' and completes registration? Does the casino take them back to the slot they originally wanted to play, or do they have to find it again?

I wonder whether that extra step could be putting some people off before they reach the deposit stage. It may not be the issue, but with one program accounting for almost half your signups and no FTDs, I'd be curious to see whether the experience differs from the other casinos you're promoting.

With 31 signups and 2 first deposits over 20 days, I would not read too much into the overall rate yet. That is a small sample, and one or two deposits either way would change the picture completely, so it is better to let a longer period build up before calling a program weak or strong.

The split you describe also matters. Slot information pages often bring visitors who are still researching a game, checking RTP, or comparing options, rather than visitors who are ready to deposit that day. That kind of traffic can produce signups but slower deposits, which is different from a visitor arriving through a direct casino comparison or brand search.

A practical check is to separate the funnel into two parts: clicks to signup, and signup to first deposit, for each program and each main page type. If signups are healthy but deposits lag, look at registration steps, payment options for that region, and whether deposits are reported with a delay. If both stages are low, the issue is more likely traffic intent or page targeting. Comparing programs on the same page type, over the same period, will be much more useful than a single overall average.

I would say this is almost typical as others have highlighted.

Didn’t know attribution could quietly leak like that, especially the mobile-register-then-desktop-deposit gap and KYC drop-off. Never thought to compare their signup count against mine for the same period. Will do that this week. Do you know if any programs let you see cookie window length upfront, or do you have to ask?

No, cookie lengths are set by the operator/affiliate programs.

Most will state up front what the cookie length is as well as whether it is over-writeable so that the affiliate that makes the sale gets the credit.

Check out the GPWA Sponsors, and the welcome thread for each one as this is normally covered in their initial review.

If you have a question about the cookie length you should ask the program up front it is before promoting them.

I think these days in 2026 if soembody is not signing up on the spot they enever will. Gone are the days of mass traffic and clicks for unrelated keywords only for them to come in and sign upo 3 months. later.

I think that is mostly correct, but still no excuse not to have 30 or 90 days cookies which is fair.

I think in some cases a player might read a review or mini review etc for a casino a few times before signing up as they are looking for a place to play which is why the cookies need to be overwriteable.

An affiliate knowing the cookie terms in advance can be helpful and also shows why "calls to action" are important
